Inuktun began in March, 1989 as a partnership between friends Al Robinson and Terry Knight, and was incorporated as a private company in October of that same year. Both founders are still with the company.

The firm's unusual name is derived from the Inuit language. Broadly translated, Inuktun means "service to mankind."

Today Inuktun employs a multi-disciplinary team of talented professionals. In addition to designing and producing equipment, the company offers clients a complete range of services, from conceptual design through to project completion.
